Tesla has been teasing the Roadster for years. The company has constantly delayed the vehicle, hoping to push its limits past anything that is even imaginable by the human mind.

Earlier this year, the company said it would put on a “most epic demo” for the Roadster, displaying and unveiling all its capabilities, some new, some previously talked about. However, nobody really knows what to expect.

On the JRE Podcast, Musk joined Rogan for an over three-hour conversation about a variety of topics, but Tesla was something that was evidently on the agenda.

One of the parts of the Tesla conversation that is getting a lot of attention is Musk’s new teasing of the Roadster, saying it has “crazy technology” that might not even qualify as an automobile in the classic sense.

Musk confirmed that Tesla is “getting close to demonstrating the prototype,” and said he can guarantee the demo “will be unforgettable.”

He continued:

“Whether it’s good or bad, it will be unforgettable. My friend Peter Thiel once reflected that the future was supposed to have flying cars, but we don’t have flying cars. I think if Peter wants a flying car, he should be able to buy one.”

Musk went on to say, with a smile, that Joe would have to “wait and see” what Tesla had come up with.

He went on:

“I think it has a shot at being the most memorable product unveil ever. [It will be unveiled] hopefully before the end of the year. You know, we need to make sure that it works. This is some crazy technology in this car. Let’s just put it this way: if you took all the James Bond cars and combined them, it’s crazier than that.”

Tesla has said for years that the Roadster would be able to at least hover, thanks to a SpaceX package that would feature cold gas thrusters that would help the vehicle get in the air.

Musk seemed very confident in his answers and very excited to show off what the Tesla Roadster is capable of. The real question is: how long will it take Tesla to get the car to market after the launch and unveiling? How many units will it manufacture? How much will it cost?

All of those things are details we will have to wait for Tesla to reveal at the Roadster event.

Rogan is a massive fan of Musk and has had him on his podcast more than five times. Perhaps some of the coolest Tesla details have been revealed on the Joe Rogan Experience, and it has resulted in the UFC commentator and podcaster purchasing several Teslas, including a completely decked-out Model S Plaid.

However, Rogan recently gave his two cents on the Full Self-Driving suite, which is among the most robust Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in the world, and many people will be happy to hear what he said.

Rogan posted on X:

The FSD suite is not fully autonomous, as it still requires the operator’s attention, but it is a hands-free driving suite. As it has become more advanced, Tesla has allowed drivers to keep their hands off the wheel as long as they pay attention. Their eyes are tracked with a cabin-facing camera that ensures they are paying attention and ready to take over at any time.

In the past months, the FSD suite has continued to be refined, and new versions have been released to the public. In fact, Tesla has become so confident in its abilities, it recently opened up its Early Access Program (EAP) to more owners, allowing them to experience more advanced software releases before they are given to those who either have a subscription or have purchased the FSD suite.

Rogan’s comments reflect those of many other Tesla owners. In our twice-weekly X Spaces, we talk to many owners who state they have completely abandoned manual driving, and FSD is in operation for a vast majority of their drive.

Tesla plans to launch a robotaxi ride-hailing service in Austin in June, and it could be brought to even more cities by the time the year ends, as discussions with California are also in the works.

Rogan’s image and caption that highlight the somewhat baffling strength of the Cybertruck’s exterior comes just a few weeks after the automaker displayed a Tommy gun-hit pickup that was driving on a highway.

After the Cybertruck was spotted by someone driving near it and a video was subsequently shared on social media, Musk came out to say that he unloaded a Tommy gun into the side of the all-electric pickup in an attempt to test its durability.

“We emptied the entire drum magazine of a Tommy gun into the driver door Al Capone style,” Musk said on X. “No bullets penetrated into the passenger compartment.

Tesla nor Musk has released the video of the Tommy gun being unloaded into the side of the Cybertruck, but the clip of the pickup that was subjected to this treatment has made its rounds on various social media outlets.

In past episodes of JRE with Musk, he has covered a variety of topics and broken major details regarding the Cybertruck, including Tesla’s reduction of the truck’s dimensions so it would be more manageable to drive.

However, the Tesla CEO’s appearances have not come without controversy. His first appearance included the now-infamous instance of Musk smoking a joint on the podcast, which came with various consequences, including mandatory drug tests so SpaceX could keep its deals with NASA as a government contractor.

Musk revealed this on the Full Send podcast last year with the Nelk Boys.

Undoubtedly, the Tesla Cybertruck’s defining feature is its unique design and capabilities. Joe Rogan has long been a fan of Tesla and the Cybertruck. The now famous podcast voice has been invited to see and interact with Elon Musk and the truck numerous times before, recently with Jordan Peterson, who also commented on the truck’s capabilities in a subsequent episode with Rogan. The most recent comments from Joe Rogan come from his conversation with comedian Jim Breuer, focusing on the truck’s capabilities and Rogan’s excitement for the upcoming vehicle.

During his conversation with Breuer, Rogan highlights some key features of the Cybertruck, including its stainless steel body paneling, dynamic suspension system, and overall fantastic design, which he believes will blow many competitors out of the water. Moreover, Rogan believes the Cybertruck’s offroad abilities and bulletproof paneling will make it a hit with traditional truck buyers.

The most revealing quote from Rogan’s comments is regarding how futuristic the truck looks compared to the competition; “it looks like its a hundred years in the future… when you are standing next to it, it is the coolest looking car I have ever seen.” And looking at the pictures supplied by the podcast host on his Instagram from January last year, it is hard to disagree with him.

Sadly, Elon Musk and Tesla have remained secretive about the upcoming truck, despite a wave of recent sightings showing the truck in what is believed to be near production-ready form. Nonetheless, a few specifications and details are known, all likely to captivate customers and make the truck a sales sensation in its first year on the production line.

Foremost, the Cybertruck’s patented stainless steel plating, often compared to the Delorean DMC-12, is set to make the truck easily the most durable on the market, handily crushing its aluminum-based competition, such as the Ford F-150 Lightning and upcoming Chevy Silverado EV. Moreover, with bulletproof glass, and even the ability to forge open water, the truck sounds like it came right off the set of a James Bond movie.

Luckily for long-time reservation holders, the wait is close to over, as the Cybertruck unveiling is planned for Q3 of this year, with deliveries likely beginning shortly thereafter. At that event, Tesla and Elon Musk are expected to reveal pricing information and confirm the specifications of available configurations, including which motor configurations will be entering production later this year.
